How to Prepare Your Westside LA Home for the Market in Two Weeks

Before anything goes on the market
Sellers feel calmest when they know exactly what happens next. So after we sign, I do not leave the prep to chance. I run a defined pre-launch process called the Two-Week Launch Plan. Every milestone is on the calendar before we go live, which means no scrambling and no surprises.
Days 1 to 2: consult and timeline
We sit down, map the whole timeline backward from your target on-market date, and decide what the home needs. You leave that conversation knowing the plan and the dates. This is also when we lock the pricing strategy using a real valuation, not a guess. More on that in what your home is actually worth.
Days 2 to 3: Coming Soon kickoff
Before the home is publicly live, I start a Coming Soon digital campaign. This builds a list of interested, pre-qualified buyers so that when we go on-market, there is already demand waiting instead of a cold start.
Days 3 to 8: the work that returns money
Cleaning, targeted repairs, and staging, which I handle myself. I walk the home and tell you which fixes actually move the number and which to skip, so you never overspend on prep that buyers will not pay for. Decades around a contracting business before real estate help me see condition issues early, while there is still time to address them on your terms instead of a buyer's.
Day 9 or 10: Media Day
Media is one coordinated day: professional photos, twilight shots, video, drone footage, and social content. Doing it all at once, after staging, means the home looks its best in every frame buyers will see first.
Days 10 to 12: access and logistics
Secure lockbox installation with a defined access protocol, sign install, and the listing copy and property website built and ready. You always know who can access your home and when.
Days 13 to 14: go live with an open house already booked
We set the firm on-market date, and the open house is already on the calendar before we launch. The home goes live everywhere at once, paired with the digital launch covered in why I launch every listing like a product.
Through all of it, you are coordinating nothing. I handle every vendor and every detail. When you are ready for the bigger picture, here is the full guide to selling a Westside Los Angeles home.
Work with an agent who's here when you're ready
A long-held home deserves a defined plan, not a scramble. I handle everything, from the first pricing conversation to the keys changing hands, and I give you real answers with no pressure. Your next chapter starts here.
If you want to talk it through, book a consultation and we will map out your options together. No pressure, just real answers.
Working with me
If you are weighing a sale in Playa del Rey, the useful first conversation is not about a listing price. It is about what your home needs, what it will cost, and what it is likely to return. First Key Pacific is my practice, and I walk the property before anyone spends a dollar. Tell me about your home and we will start there.
Common questions
- How long does it take to get my home ready to sell?
- My pre-launch process runs about two weeks from signing to going live. Every step, from prep and staging to Media Day and the on-market date, is scheduled in advance so nothing is a surprise.
- Do I need to stage my home?
- Often yes, because staging helps buyers picture living there. I handle staging myself, and I tell you exactly where it is worth it for your home and where it is not.
- Which repairs are worth making before listing?
- The ones that remove buyer objections and return more than they cost. I walk the home before any money is spent and separate the fixes that move the number from the ones to skip.
- What is a Coming Soon campaign?
- It is a pre-launch digital campaign that builds a list of interested, pre-qualified buyers before the home is publicly live, so we open to existing demand instead of a cold start.
