Relocating to Playa del Rey
The whole transaction handled while you're still out of state. Zoom showings, virtual signings, and partner introductions for lending and moving.
An actual beach town, which is rarer than it sounds
People moving to Southern California generally want to be near the water and end up choosing between crowded and expensive. Playa del Rey is the quiet answer, and most of Los Angeles drives past it on the way to the airport without registering that people live there.
Beach cottages and bluff-view homes, Culver Blvd as the spine, the Ballona Wetlands to the north and open sand to the west. Smaller and more local in feel than the Marina immediately north. I know these streets well, which is why I can tell you which blocks are genuinely different rather than which ones look different on a map.
Three things listing photos won't tell you
Bluff or flats. These are two different markets. The flats put you walking to the sand, closer to summer traffic and parking pressure. The bluff buys the view and the quiet, and you drive down to the water, which changes how often people actually go. From out of state they look like one neighborhood. They aren't.
The flight paths. You're near LAX. Impact varies sharply by pocket and doesn't track price, so no amount of research replaces standing on the specific street at different times of day when you visit.
The marine layer. Bright in every listing photo, gray until noon for stretches of the year. Nobody mentions it and it shapes how the house actually feels to live in.
How this works from out of state
Video walkthroughs where I'm standing in the property, and where I'll let you hear the street rather than describe it. Remote signing. Every vendor coordinated here.
One client sold a rental from another state and said it plainly: Bobejo handled EVERYTHING. Anything that came up, she had it taken care of.
Buying works the same way.
Condition deserves particular attention on an older coastal property, since salt air is unkind over decades and the envelope matters more than the finishes. That's what I look at on your behalf.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the bluff and the flats?
Two different markets. The flats are walkable to the sand and closer to summer traffic. The bluff carries the view and the quiet, and you drive down to the water. From out of state they look like one neighborhood, and choosing the wrong one for how you actually live is the common regret.
How close is LAX, really?
Close, and impact varies sharply by pocket in a way that doesn't track price. No amount of remote research settles it. Stand on the specific street at different times of day when you visit, before you write anything.
Can I buy here without flying out repeatedly?
Yes. Video walkthroughs with me in the property, remote signing, and vendors coordinated on the ground. My relocation work is with buyers and sellers moving between states, and remote purchases are routine.
Playa del Rey
What relocation looks like in Playa del Rey
The beach neighborhood south of the Marina across Ballona Creek, the quiet end of the Westside coastline.
Playa del Rey is where the Westside gets its beach without the Venice crowds.
- The homes
- Beach cottages and bluff-view homes in a tucked-away, residential pocket. Smaller and more local in feel than the Marina immediately north.
- Why people choose it
- People who want an actual beach town rather than a beach-adjacent one. Slower-paced and local, and quieter than Venice or the Marina.
- Getting around
- Close to LAX, Playa Vista, and Venice without sitting on top of any of them. Culver Blvd is the spine through town.
- Nearby
- The beach itself, Ballona Creek and the wetlands to the north, Playa Vista over the bluff, and Westchester up the hill.
- The trade-off
- Against Marina del Rey you give up the harbor, the slips, and the high-rise amenity buildings. You get a quieter, more residential town that most of Los Angeles drives past without noticing.
